With so many restaurants offering such a wide variety of international cuisine, the hardest choice will be deciding where to eat. The fussy eaters need not worry, there is something to suit all tastes and appetites. The local lokantasi offer traditional Turkish cuisine, ranging from mezes, kebabs, Turkish Pide (Turkish Pizza), stuffed peppers and kofte (meatballs). For something a little different, take a visit to The Temple of Apollo and enjoy a meal under the clear moonlit skies at one of the restaurants opposite. The view is outstanding and the freshly caught fish is superb. The bakeries in Altinkum are also worth a visit, sample the freshly baked breads, pastries or cakes. And for those with a sweet tooth the honey drenched Baklava is a must! And for the diners that prefer traditional English fayre, most restaurants offer a good selection of British favourites, from Sunday roasts to fish ‘n’ chips. The restaurants and bars also cater well for the younger traveller and offer children’s menus with popular dishes such as chicken nuggets, pizzas, sausage ‘n’ chips etc. |
